Service & Maintenance
When determining the cost and return on investment of a wind energy system, one important item often overlooked is the cost of maintenance. By accounting for this expense during the design and feasibility phase of your turbine, you will avoid unexpected future surprises.
By their nature, wind turbines are subject to extreme physical forces. The tips of a wind turbine blade can reach speeds of up to 300mph. Hail, dirt, and insects making contact with the blades can cause wear to the blade edges. Bearings that support the rotor & other moving parts are also subject to wear.
The lifetime of these moving parts depends on the level of maintenance care.

It is unrealistic to believe that something as complicated as a wind electric system will operate unattended and untouched for the 20-year-plus life expectancy of the system. According to manufacturers, the expected lifetime of wind turbines is 20 to 30 years. Although few manufacturers have been around that long, this prediction is not unrealistic.
Some electricity-generating wind turbines built more than 50 years ago are still working today.
Wind turbines have to properly and routinely be maintained to maximize their life. Do not be surprised if minor repair work is needed soon after initial operation.

The manufacturer usually specifies what is required for the service & maintenance of a wind turbine. The entire wind system, including the tower, storage devices and wiring should be inspected at least once a year. Routine maintenance might include changing the gear oil, greasing the bearings, and visual inspection of the blades, tower, and electrical connections.
A reputable company will make such repairs and maintain a service log to establish repair and maintenance history.
Wind Power Services LLC trained staff will provide your system (including tower) with regular scheduled maintenance and inspection. We will provide you with cost, options, and an explanation of all needed repair or parts before service is performed. We will work on all systems regardless of who installed it. For more information please Contact Us.
INSTALLATION
Wind turbines should be installed by qualified, knowledgeable people. The primary danger in working with wind turbines is the height above ground during installation and maintenance work. Many dealers will sell a complete package, including wind turbine, tower, Installation and electrical work.
Local codes may require a building inspector to inspect the completed work. For utility interconnected systems a utility-designated inspector will make additional inspections.
Wind turbine manufactures provide an installation manual when a system is purchased or you can usually obtain one for the cost of printing from a manufactures website prior to purchasing a system.
All though when installation is complete wind turbines serve the same purpose of generating power, each system is designed and installed differently. Some home or business owners can save money by installing a system themselves, but usually end up paying more for an installer to come complete the project when things start going wrong.
Wind Power Services LLC is here to assist you with your installation. Our project planner will provide you step by step consultations, on site through out the process of doing it your self. Our staff is trained and knowledgeable in many of the most reliable wind energy systems and towers on the market today.
